Christmas at the Burrage

Children and adults enter a world of Christmas magic at the Burrage Mansion during the December holidays. The house and grounds are transformed with Christmas lights and holiday decorations, making everything even more spectacular.
You can spot our 70-foot tree of Christmas lights from miles away. Passersby see a beautiful manger scene, a herd of reindeer, and a real elf village on the front lawns; a toy train is loaded with presents and on its way. Two golden angels and thousands of sparkling lights lead up the front-step entrance. Inside, a vintage-decorated Christmas tree is showcased in the entry, with flying Santa fairies, beautiful angels, nativity scenes, and garlands everywhere. Santa himself can often be found in his special big red chair during children’s parties.

A Burrage Christmas

Holiday Extravaganza

Each Christmas since 2008, the Burrage Mansion is host to the Boys & Girls Club annual Holiday Extravaganza. At the celebration, hundreds of children experience the magic of Christmas with magic shows, storytelling, playing games, doing crafts, making cookies, singing holiday songs with Redlands Bowl Performing Arts volunteers, meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus, then choosing a toy to take home.
The Redlands Fire Department and many Inland Empire corporations and businesses collect hundreds of toys donated by their employees and the community. Firefighters help the kids pick out toys at the event. Volunteers escort groups of kids around the Burrage Mansion and grounds, supervise games, and help with other activities. At the end of the evening, the children walk through a lovely “snowfall,” and Rochford Foundation gives an age-appropriate holiday book to each child.
